HO HUM. I thin Harry Truman was the last poor guy to be president. Its no like the Carlisle Group has impoverished the Bush Clan. By the way, did NRO (a fair and balanced journal if ever there was one Publish an article on Bush wealth. Bet the Bushes have more than you and I combined.

ho hum, i bet there are a boat load of folks that have more than you and i combined, and that's just in their discretionary case drawer.
actually i think you missed the point i was trying to demonstrate. there was a huge hue and cry for the pres. contenders to front their irs stuff before the 2000 elections, and the bushies posted their ENTIRE tax returns for the world to see. not seeing that happen this year on the other side, and they were the original harpers about it. i think there was something else that you may have missed, and that was the multiple use of "legal techniques" throughout. perhaps it is time to revamp how the tax system is utilized. perhaps by starting with a flat tax, no deductions, no credits. you make X dollars, you pay Y taxes. everyone, no exceptions. if you live here, you pay here. if you are an american citizen and you work overseas, you pay on the entire wage package. the only exceptions i would tender for consideration would be military and civil service.

Actually, I got the point which was fairly obvious, but half the fun is just making you cranky. I was a flat taxer before you were born sonny.
