i guess it's official... RIP Sheba kitty

our cat Sheba has been getting more and more frail over the last month or so. di and i talked about putting her to sleep because it was obvious she was starting to hurt. that was last saturday. she must have figured it out, because she disappeared that day, and hasn't shown back up. i've spent the last week waiting for her to show back up. i imagine she went off to a nice safe hidey hole, and used up the last tiny bit of her ninth life to get comfortable before heading off to kitty heaven, or where ever cat critters go when they die. i haven't found her yet, but there are a lot of crannies around here to climb into or under.
Sheba was 18+ years old, and lived a full and happy kitty life.

yeah, well she did live a long time. and besides, looking at the pictures, it's obvious she was practicing for the final act, because all she did for the last 6 years was lay around and sleep.
come to think about it, that doesn't sound all that bad! bedtime for bo

Sorry to hear about your kitty. Our two continually piss me off but I wouldn't trade them for the world.

18 years. Wow. And obviously an outdoor kitty. That's a pretty good life span. None of our indoor cats ever made it that long. And if Sabrina doesn't stop waking Mrs Myron up about 4:30 and 5:30 and 6:30 she ain't gonna make 11 this year LOL

How sad. Gray is my first cat and I can only hope that he is with me so long--I can't imagine him not being around, so I truly sympathize.

thanks for the kind words guys. but i don't feel bad. Sheba lived a long, happy kitty life, filled with yummy food, kids to play with, and warm spots to lay basking in the sun. if she'd been squashed by a car at age 5, i'd feel bad. nature and good living gave her a long long life.
